Heidi, what does BEST mean to you?
The BEST Foundation is near and dear to me… I feel like this is the ONE way we can give back, no strings attached. I love knowing that the entire group of founders, volunteers, and BEST community all have an aligned vision to simply make the world a better place, one healthy person at a time. While we cannot physically work with EVERYONE that needs our help, I feel so blessed to have BEST be a group that anyone and everyone can join to become their BEST selves.
How did you get started in this industry?
I started as a trainer at a local LA Fitness in Mesa Arizona back in 2000. I’ve always loved living a life of health and fitness (I was a gymnast and cheerleader through childhood and high school), and wanted nothing more than to pass my knowledge along to others. I stopped training others and had my first child in 2005, but didn’t stop training myself! As a self-trained endurance athlete, I continued to push my own limits, and would drag any willing neighborhood mom along with me!
When I met Chris in 2008 and saw his huge visions and dreams of making a difference, I was inspired and decided it was time to dive back into the fitness industry head first, and make a change in the world. Haven’t regretted a moment of it!
Was there a person/event that “Sparked” your passion for helping others and giving back?
While I have always loved to help others and give back (I mean, I’m a mama…isn’t that what we do?), I have to say that Chris was my SPARK. He kicked my butt into gear and helped me realize my deepest passion through helping others.
What is the one thing you would like current and would-be BESTies to know?
I just want you all to know HOW MUCH I love doing this for and with you. It’s an honor to be a BESTie alongside all of you. I’m excited to see the incredible results and life changes each of you find throughout your journey!
What is your WHY?
I do this for my family. Plain and simple. I love them, and I love setting a good example for them, in hopes of them paying it forward. I must educate you all though…my family doesn’t stop with my kids, or even blood relatives for that matter. My family is SO large…and is consisted of ALL of those in my life that I love: friends, peeps, etc. I want the absolute BEST for those that I love. You BESTies ARE part of my family. xoxo

So maybe I love slow love songs to work out too ;).
